Dec 14, Lola rated it it was ok Shelves: fairies , meh , paranormal , fast-paced , new-adult , action , cheesy. B-But…I usually love Jennifer L. Her characters always feel like they could just jump off the page and stand before you, and her writing always flows perfectly with the story and pacing.

See a Problem?

Yet, this did not work for me. Ivy works for the order: she kills fae, those despicable creatures that lure into the human world. Except, one day, she finds herself in front of an Ancient , while those were supposed to be held in the Otherworld only. Could it be that a grand danger is to come? When the Ancient escapes more like the other way around — he is too powerful , she plans on finding him again and, this time, to actually vanquish him.

But, she will not be alone on this mission. Ren, her new partner, will be beside her. I honestly thought Ivy was a good heroine to read about. Thrown around? Most definitely. Almost set on fire? That too.

But being shot…wow, this sucked donkey balls. Ren was…a bit strange. The romance overall was okay, but very predictable and containing unsurprising scenes. It could have worked better if, I believe, we knew more about Ren and if this latter would have been more exciting.

The pacing was great, really, but the writing, this time, repetitive and lacking of a throughout style. He was fun and entertaining! I shook my head. On the contrary, unfortunately. Maybe I should keep my distance from them for a while? Nuh-uh, they always have such interesting premises; I cannot resist. Loving Mr.

Where does she come up with this stuff?? I need to dive into her mind for a day to steal some plots, seriously.

I've read a lot of fae stories and even written one myself, but Jen's take on the fae? So fun. Just awesome. And Tink might be my favorite character ever, hands down - I got the crazy giggles in some of his scenes.

I'm pretty sure I start off every review for a book that Jla writes by saying something along the lines of this Another amazing novel. This lady can write anything. Contemporary, paranormal romance, NA lit, anything.

If she published her target shopping list I would read it because I know she would make it amazing. Wicked was so wicked!!! I just loved that it I'm pretty sure I start off every review for a book that Jla writes by saying something along the lines of this I just loved that it was so different. Wicked is a paranormal new adult and a first in The Wicked Trilogy.

Pretty sure at one point I told Leah I thought I just got pregnant reading this. Whoosh it was so hot! It wasn't just the steamy scenes that made this book. It was everything. The world building, plot, flow, and the characters. Ivy is funny, strong, and awkward. The things that go on in her head are hilarious.

Ren is so upfront, charming, and wickedly hot. The relationship between Ren and Ivy is almost insta-love but falls closer to insta-lust. Which I think is a good thing.

The things they say to each other mainly Ren is so so yummy. The only cakes I could bake came out of the box. It was Tink who baked the cakes from scratch. Because I'm willing to get to know you in any way possible if that means I get to taste your cake. My words replayed. My face turned crimson.

Wicked Woman

He is seriously like the sweet caring version of Roth from TDE. They even both ride motorcycles. He also knows Disney movies. For some odd reason men knowing Disney movies is hot. Hell, Jla seriously can make anything hot. She did some job on Ren. Kid you not this was me He was the perfect leading man. Romantic and Take charge. One of my favorite things however is how Ivy is described. She's a curvy frizzy haired ginger.
